THE FOUR RULES

1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.

2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.

3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.

4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.

Winston Churchill said
"A GENTLEMAN, SELDOM, IF EVER, NEEDS A GUN.
BUT WHEN HE DOES, HE NEEDS IT VERY BADLY!"
Si Vis Paceum Para Bellum

Sam Adams, more than beer

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen”
Samuel Adams

Lincoln on power

"We must prevent these things being done, by either congresses or courts — The people — the people — are the rightful masters of both Congresses, and courts — not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it —" Abraham Lincoln

The Hill departs from objectivity on restaurant 'gun ban' story

The Hill departs from objectivity on restaurant 'gun ban' story

"Please don't bring your gun" is a lot different than "do not bring your gun".    Poor plastic Shannon and her Mommies Demanding Attention are calling these "victories". Wow, the sure don't have their bar set very high. Of course the press keeps trying to mislead the public because Bloomberg and all of the other gun haters are using their money to peddle influence. They keep trying and we keep resisting. We are winning a little at a time.

You and I are Members (we get mail)

In this mornings mail.

The typical U.S. household headed by a person age 65 or older has a net worth 47 times greater than a household headed by someone under 35, according to an analysis of census data released Monday.

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. We worked hard, raised our children, and worshiped our God and grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.

In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don't know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and outdated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Vietnam. We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States of America; we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave." We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America, and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America.

Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.

It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. You fell for the "Hope and Change" which in reality was nothing but "Hype and Lies."

You youngsters have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and have found you don't like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or "Climbing the Social Ladder" to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn't have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the 'Kool-Aid.' Now you're paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom.

This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.

Well, don't worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2014 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we're going, and in 2014 we're going to the polls by the millions.

This land does not belong to the man in the White House or to the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Eric Holder, or even the wookie trying to starve our children.  It belongs to "We the People" and "We the People" plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Grey-Haired Brigade."

Footnote: This is spot on. I am another Gray-Haired Geezer signing on. I will circulate this to other Gray-Haired Geezers all over this once-great county.

Pass this along.

Home depot can kiss...

..my money goodbye.

Last month I got busy and built a small garden shed. We also found a janitor sink at a yard sale, with the faucets, for a reasonable price. Between the two projects, I spent a lot of time and money at home depot. When I installed the sink, I replaced to old faucets that the washer connected to. A couple of days later, the one on the hot water started leaking, badly. I grabbed some pliers off the workbench and tried to tighten it up. The threads broke off and I had a full stream of hot water running down the wall and the back of the washer. I closed the faucet. Now I've got to turn off the hot water and replace a faucet that I just replaced.

After they pissed me off at Home Depot, I went elsewhere since I had to buy the faucet and hose. Then I sent a letter to Home Depot. Here's the letter.

To whom it may concern.
In the month of September, A couple of projects had me making several trips to store #2104 in Des Moines Iowa. The projects I was working on weren't very large, but I did spend a considerable amount of money.  One of the projects was installing a janitor sink in my shop/laundry room. Since the hose bibbs for the washer were over 20 years old, I decided that it would be a good time to replace them. The day after changing things, I noticed a small stream of water shooting up from where the washer hose was connected to the faucet. When I tried to tighten it up, the threaded section twisted off. It seems I had gotten a defective faucet. After shuting off the hot water and removing the broken piece, I proceeded to the store.

Upon arrival at the store, I was informed that I was going to have to purchase a new faucet because I didn't have my receipt. They agreed that the faucet was broken and must have been defective as it was less than a week old. I understand the policy, yet there really needs to be some common sense. Not everyone saves their receipts. I'm one of those people. When I was done with the sink project, I was not expecting to replace a new faucet within a week. This was supposed to be a permenent fix.

No receipt, no warranty. Good policy you have there. I was in that store almost once a week and sometimes even more than that. So over a $5 faucet, I will never set foot in one of your stores again. There's a Menards right down the street. There are also 2 Lowes stores within 20 minutes. These are where I will be taking my business from now on.

I don't know how they will respond. And frankly I don't care. In the 8 years we have lived in this house, I would hate to guess how much money I've spent in that store. I am going to have to go get some tarps later today. I'll be going to Menards.

No seat belt, instant execution.

 — An S.C. trooper who stopped a man for a seat belt violation outside Columbia and then shot him – apparently without provocation – was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
Sean Groubert, 31, a lance corporal who was fired from the Highway Patrol after the shooting incident, now faces 20 years in prison if convicted of wrongfully shooting the driver, Levar Jones.

The first mistake, the driver, Mr. Jones, should not have reached into his car. The second. the Trooper was awful fast to start shooting. I never saw a threat presented, no gun, no knife, not even a club. Last time I checked, not wearing a seat belt was a fine, not a capital offence. Especially a death sentence to be carried out right there and then. Mr Jones is luck the copper was a lousy shot.
