THE FOUR RULES

1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.

2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.

3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.

4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.

Winston Churchill said
"A GENTLEMAN, SELDOM, IF EVER, NEEDS A GUN.
BUT WHEN HE DOES, HE NEEDS IT VERY BADLY!"
Si Vis Paceum Para Bellum

Sam Adams, more than beer

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen”
Samuel Adams

Lincoln on power

"We must prevent these things being done, by either congresses or courts — The people — the people — are the rightful masters of both Congresses, and courts — not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it —" Abraham Lincoln

Silence on Friesen case shows continued media failure on guns

Regardless of your position on guns, it would be disingenuous to argue the outcome of the Doug Friesen case is not "news." When the government is aggresively prosecuting a citizen, trying to put him away for up to 10 years and penalize him $250,000 for multiple felonies, and when they agree to dismiss charges in exchange for his agreement to surrender an item of disputed property, pay a $25 fine, and receive probation for a misdemeanor plea, curiosity should at least be piqued among the newshounds.

Especially since being a watchdog (as opposed to lapdog) of government is one of the traditional roles of a free press.

"[We] need to look at what the anointed media do with their elite status. Meaning how they slant supposedly straight news stories to fit their anti-gun agenda. And ignore other stories altogether.

Author/economist John Lott addressed this in his "The Bias Against Guns," where he demonstrates selective reporting by agenda-driven media and government, what reviewer, economist and syndicated columnist Walter Williams called "sins of commission and omission."

Combine that with an almost astounding ignorance of their subject matter."

The press just keeps ignoring stories of how the Government treats gun owners. But we heard about Micheal Jackson for over a month. Now he's been replaced by Ted Kennedy. We wouldn't want to miss out on what either one of these are doing, now that they are dead.
