THE FOUR RULES

1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.

2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.

3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.

4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.

Winston Churchill said
"A GENTLEMAN, SELDOM, IF EVER, NEEDS A GUN.
BUT WHEN HE DOES, HE NEEDS IT VERY BADLY!"
Si Vis Paceum Para Bellum

Sam Adams, more than beer

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen”
Samuel Adams

"We must prevent these things being done, by either congresses or courts — The people — the people — are the rightful masters of both Congresses, and courts — not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it —" Abraham Lincoln

What you'll see in the revolution

Perhaps 50-100 million firearms currently owned by law-abiding citizens will become contraband with the stroke of a pen. Citizens will either register their firearms, or turn them in to agents of the federal government, or risk becoming criminals themselves. Faced with this choice, millions will indeed register their arms. Perhaps as many will claim they’ve sold their arms, or had them stolen. Suppose that as many as 200-250 million weapons of other types will go unregistered.

http://www.bob-owens.com/2012/12/what-youll-see-in-the-rebellion/

There is not going to be any "registration", period. The next step would be confiscation and from there it's just a short stroll to a camp for "re-education".

The 535 members of the House and Senate in both parties that allowed such a law to pass would largely be on their own; the Secret Service is too small to protect all of them and their families, the Capitol Police too unskilled, and competent private security not particularly interested in working against their own best interests at any price. The elites will be steadily whittled down, and if they can not be reached directly, the targets will become their staffers, spouses, children, and grandchildren. Grandstanding media figures loyal to the regime would die in droves, executed as enemies of the Republic.
You can expect congressional staffs to disintegrate with just a few shootings, and expect elected officials themselves to resign well before a quarter of their number are eliminated, leaving us with a boxed-in executive, his cabinet loyalists trapped in the same win, die, or flee the country circumstance, military regime loyalists, and whatever State Governors who desire to risk their necks as well.

Most of the police and military will abandon their jobs rather than follow a unconstitutional law. Going on a raid to confiscate weapons would be a suicide mission. The ones left would be wondering who is going in first, and surly die.

Write your Senators, both of them

Write your Representative, write the ones on either side of you too

Hell, send them a link to the article. Maybe they will get the message, or maybe not.

Todd Hartley: I'm With Stupid The longer the weapon, the shorter the tool

So, since I'm not particularly concerned about the National Rifle Association ruining my political career, I'll be the one to say it: If you own multiple guns or feel the need to possess a military-style assault weapon, it's because you have a small penis.

http://www.aspentimes.com/article/20121228/COLUMN/121229911

Get that gun owners. It doesn't matter if you are male or female, if you own one of those "scary assault weapon" you have a small pee pee.

Freud call the fear of weapons a sign of retarded sexual maturity. Hmmm, Freud got the retarded part right.

Now, I know a lot of you are probably saying to yourselves, “But Todd, plenty of women also own guns. What about them? Do they have small penises, too?”
My answer to that question would be: yes. Yes they do. Women who own assault weapons have tiny penises, just like their male counterparts. That would explain why they're angry enough to buy a weapon whose sole purpose is to kill as many people as possible as quickly as possible.

Wow, We have facts and figures that show the truth, and they have penis jokes.

Yeah, The Vice President really believes in the Constitution.

There are a lot of quotes here that are just unbelievable.

We must be able to arrest people before they commit crimes. By registering guns and knowing who has them we can do that... If they have guns they are pretty likely to commit a crime.

Assault Weapons Ban 2013 explained

This is a little long, but well worth the time. This explains just how evil Fineswine really is.

Contact your Congress critters, all of them

Gun owners and anyone else that cherishes our freedom must take a stand.

It's time to tell our Congress critters, we will not register our firearms, They will not be confiscated, we will resist.

This is a copy of the letter I sent;

The past few weeks have been difficult for our great nation. In the wake of the mass murder/suicide that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School, many proposals have come forward on how to prevent similar events from happening again. Some of the ideas have merit, such as improving our mental health system so that those with deep issues may have access to the treatment they disparately need. Improving our schools’ physical security is another worthy goal of the legislative process and must be examined as well. Students and Staff deserve to have someone within their ranks tasked with defending against the unthinkable acts those with evil intent seek to engage in.

The further eroding of lawful gun owner’s rights is not the solution to our nation’s problems. I am counting on you to honor your oath to the Constitution and to defend our rights. The early proposals being touted have run the spectrum from infringement to outright trampling of the people’s rights. We have some 20,000 + laws on the books now that are designed as forms of gun control measures. Their only success has been in restricting honest persons’ access to the tools they may need to save their lives.

I am asking for your support in stopping any legislative action that seeks to limit, impede, tax, or further inconvenience law abiding citizens from exercising their inalienable right to self defense. Gun owners have long memories as to who supports their rights, and of those that ignore their obligations to support liberty. Your actions will directly effect how we vote in the coming elections.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Should you wish to speak with me directly on this matter, I have included my contact information below.

Sincerely, Robert A. Fowler Jr.

Use it whole or in part.

Number one with a bullet

His death was the 500th homicide in Chicago this year, marking a grim milestone. The city last reached that toll in 2008.

How's that gun control working for you there Chicago? I guess as long as Rahm has his protective detail all is good with the world. After all, we wouldn't want Hizzonr to be unprotected like the commoners. This is the world the gun haters want for all of us that can't afford our own private security.

The plain truth

And there it is.....

I, Robert Fowler, as an American and as a military veteran, pledge the following:

I Pledge to never disarm, and in particular, to never surrender my military pattern, semi-automatic rifles (and full capacity magazines, parts, and ammunition that go with them), regardless of what illegitimate action is taken by Congress, the President, or the courts.

I also pledge to pass on those military pattern rifles to my family and/or my children and my children's children, as well as the full capacity magazines, parts, and ammunition to needed to use them, regardless of what illegitimate action is taken by Congress, the President, or the courts. As Founding Father Tench Coxe said, while attempting to allay the fears of critics of the proposed Constitution:

"The powers of the sword are in the hands of the yeomanry of America from sixteen to sixty. The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom?"

"Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American... [T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." - Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.

And that "power of the sword" - those "terrible implements of the soldier," includes the people's battle rifles and carbines - their M1As, their FN-LARs, their HK 91s, their grandfathers' M1 Garand, their AK 47s, their ARs and M4s, etc. - all of the weapons listed as being targeted in new and improved "Assault Weapons Ban."

The whole point of the Second Amendment is to preserve the military capacity of the American people - to preserve the ability of the people, who are the militia, to provide for their own security as individuals, as neighborhoods, towns, counties, and states, during any emergency, man-made or natural; to preserve the military capacity of the American people to resist tyranny and violations of their rights by oath breakers within government; and to preserve the military capacity of the people to defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, including those oath breaking domestic enemies within government. It is not about hunting, and at its core, the Second Amendment is not really even about self-defense against private criminals. It is about self-defense against public criminals - against tyrants, usurpers, and foreign invaders.

Above all other firearms currently available to the American citizen, modern military pattern, semi-automatic rifles provide that military capacity.Protecting the keeping and bearing of such arms of military utility is the heart and soul of the Second Amendment. Thus, any attempt to ban their possession, sale, purchase, or transfer, is an attempt to disarm the American people.

Nor will I surrender my accurate, scoped, bolt action rifles, which are also great force multipliers of military utility in the roles of sniper and marksman. Invaders, tyrants and usurpers fear the sniper and marksman for good reason, and millions of American hunters have the well practiced field-craft and marksmanship skills to serve in those rolls most effectively. We must preserve their means of doing so, including preserving our .50 caliber sniper rifles, our .338 Lapua's, our .300 Win Mags, and other powerful, long-range capable calibers.

Nor will I surrender my semi-automatic pistols with full capacity magazines, which provide me with the capacity to effectively defend against close range, sudden attack.

I will not disarm, regardless of what law is passed by the oath breakers in Congress, or signed into law by the oath breaker in the White House, and I WILL pass on to my children every terrible implement of the soldier currently in my possession.

Further, I will ask my family and/or children to also pledge to never surrender those arms and equipment, regardless of what illegitimate, Bill of Rights violating law is passed by the oath breakers in Washington DC, and regardless of whatever any oath breaking judge may rule.

Further, I pledge to refuse compliance with any and all laws that attempt to strip me, my family and/or my children of those arms, the full capacity magazines needed to load and fire them, or the parts and ammunition needed to keep them firing. I will use nullification, civil disobedience, and active physical resistance against all such laws. I will nullify, disobey, and resist as an individual, and I will work with my neighbors to nullify, disobey, and resist as towns, counties, and states. We will not disarm, we will not comply, and we will resist.

Further, I pledge to refuse to vote for, and to actively work to purge from office any elected official, of any affiliation, who violates their oath of office by supporting, endorsing, or voting for any law, action, or decree that attempts to disarm me, my family, my children, or my children's children of any of the above noted arms. I pledge to root the oath breakers out, in a scorched earth policy. I will not buy into the "lesser of two evils" con game, and regardless of what party an oath breaking politician is in.

Finally, I pledge to defend myself, my neighbors, my town, county, and state, against any attempt to forcibly disarm them pursuant to any "assault weapons ban" or any other illegitimate "law" passed by oath breakers within Congress, or pursuant to any illegitimate order, action, or decree by the oath breaker within the White House. We will not disarm. We will resist. And if given no other choice but to fight or to submit to abject tyranny, we will fight, just as our forefathers in the American Revolution fought against the tyrants, usurpers, and oath breakers of their day.

If we are presented with the "choice" of submission to tyranny or fighting in defense of our natural rights, we will fight, as our forefathers fought, when the British Empire attempted to disarm them and confiscate the military pattern arms, ammunition, and supplies of their time. We will make the same choice as Patrick Henry made, when he rejected "peace" purchased at the price of chains and slavery, and said "I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!" I too choose liberty or death.

I hereby reaffirm the oath I swore through more than 30 years of military and federal civilian service to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and pledge my life, my fortune, and my sacred honor in defense of the principles of liberty enunciated in our Declaration of Independence, for which our forefathers spilled their blood. We will not let the Republic fall without a fight.

What...say...you?
Molon Labe.

Thank you Burton Zeller for the great words. Thank you too for the permission to use them as our own. You have captured the essence of the gun rights movement.

Sen. Feinstein suggests national buyback of guns

http://washingtonexaminer.com/sen.-feinstein-suggests-national-buyback-of-guns/article/2516648#.UNtnpuTBEfv

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said that she and other gun control advocates are considering a law that would create a program to purchase weapons from gun owners, a proposal that could be compulsory.

Oh really? You want to buy my AR's? Here's a clue. It's not going to happen. The government is broke so where is the money going to come from anyway? China?

That turd Cuomo from New York is even more rabid than Fineswine.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., already discussed the possibility of a buy-back law for his state, but he made clear it would be a forced buyback.
“Confiscation could be an option,” Cuomo told The New York Timesyesterday when discussing semiautomatic weapons. “Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it.”

There isn't going to be a buyback. There isn't going to be registration and there isn't going to be permits. They need to get over themselves and leave us law abiding citizens alone. I have hurt no one, and don't think I should be punished for someone else's crime.

Australia implemented a mandatory buyback program in 1996 following a mass shooting. “The law banned semiautomatic and automatic rifles and shotguns and put in place a mandatory buy-back program for newly banned weapons,” USA Today recalls. “The buyback led to the destruction of 650,000 gun.”

This isn't Australia. If you want Australia's' gun laws, move there. We aren't having their bullshit policies forced on us by the asshats in DC and some state houses that think they are better than us. Remember that there are a lot of people in  this country that will not be disarmed and could care less what you want. People like Fineswine and upChuck Schumer aren't the ones that will go around and collect them anyway. They will try to send the police and military to do their dirty work.  Except that a lot of these folks have already decided that their oath of office is more important than what some gasbag politician wants. especially if it's a "law" that goes against the Constitution.

Keep calm and carry on(e)

If everyone who bought an AR-15 magazine since 2004 wrote their congresscritter and told them to not support any restrictions on gun rights, no bill would see the light of day.

There's a lot of truth in that statement.

Wrire your Senators, both of them

Write your Representative, Write one ones on either side of you too

Follow up with a phone call.  Follow that up with a visit to their local office if there is one around. Be polite and don't make threats. They will know that you are a 2nd Amendment supporter and a gun owner. If enough of us write, call and show up, they will get the message. Remember, they should, if not fear us, they should respect us. Be sure to make it clear that we are the boss and they are the employee. It's rather difficult to get rid of incumbents, but it's not impossible.

Merry Christmas, My Friend

Lance Corporal James M Schmidt

Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house made of plaster & stone.
I had come down the chimney, with presents to give
and to see just who in this home did live
As I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
no tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand.
On the wall hung pictures of a far distant land.
With medals and badges, awards of all kind,
a sobering thought soon came to my mind.
For this house was different, unlike any I’d seen.
This was the home of a U.S. Marine.
I’d heard stories about them, I had to see more,
so I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.
And there he lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor in his one-bedroom home.
He seemed so gentle, his face so serene,
Not how I pictured a U.S. Marine.
Was this the hero, of whom I’d just read?
Curled up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?
His head was clean-shaven, his weathered face tan.
I soon understood, this was more than a man.
For I realized the families that I saw that night,
owed their lives to these men, who were willing to fight.
Soon around the Nation, the children would play,
And grown-ups would celebrate on a bright Christmas day.
They all enjoyed freedom, each month and all year,
because of Marines like this one lying here.
I couldn’t help wonder how many lay alone,
on a cold Christmas Eve, in a land far from home.
Just the very thought brought a tear to my eye.
I dropped to my knees and I started to cry.
He must have awoken, for I heard a rough voice,
“Santa, don’t cry, this life is my choice
I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more.
My life is my God, my country, my Corps.”
With that he rolled over, drifted off into sleep,
I couldn’t control it, I continued to weep.
I watched him for hours, so silent and still.
I noticed he shivered from the cold night’s chill.
So I took off my jacket, the one made of red,
and covered this Marine from his toes to his head.
Then I put on his T-shirt of scarlet and gold,
with an eagle, globe and anchor emblazoned so bold.
And although it barely fit me, I began to swell with pride,
and for one shining moment, I was Marine Corps deep inside.
I didn’t want to leave him so quiet in the night,
this guardian of honor so willing to fight.
But half asleep he rolled over, and in a voice clean and pure,
said “Carry on, Santa, it’s Christmas Day, all secure.”
One look at my watch and I knew he was right,
Merry Christmas my friend, Semper Fi and goodnight.
Leatherneck Magazine:
“Merry Christmas, My Friend,” has been a holiday favorite among ‘leatherneckphiles’ for nearly the time it takes to complete a Marine Corps career. Few, however, know who wrote it and when. Former Corporal James M. Schmidt, stationed at Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C., pounded it out over 17 years ago on a typewriter while awaiting the commanding officer’s Christmas holiday decorations inspection…while other leathernecks strung lights for the Barracks’ annual Christmas decoration contest, Schmidt contributed his poem to his section.”
Mr. Schmidt’s own words:
“The true story is that while a Lance Corporal serving as Battalion Counter Sniper at the Marine Barracks 8th & I, Washington, D.C., under Commandant P.X. Kelly and Battalion Commander D.J. Myers (in 1986), I wrote this poem to hang on the door of the gym in the BEQ. When Colonel Myers came upon it, he read it and immediately had copies sent to each department at the Barracks and promptly dismissed the entire Battalion early for Christmas leave. The poem was placed that day in the Marine Corps Gazette, distributed worldwide and later submitted to Leatherneck Magazine.”

Semper Fi to all of my brother Marines and to everyone who serves, no matter the uniform.

The most violent country in Europe: Britain is also worse than South Africa and U.S.

Official crime figures show the UK also has a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S. and even South Africa - widely considered one of the world's most dangerous countries.

The U.S. has a violence rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, Canada 935, Australia 92 and South Africa 1,609.

Well would you look at that. The two top violent countries in the world either ban guns or severely restrict their ownership and use. The part that surprised me was that Canada has a higher rate of crime than the US.

And the gun haters want us to be like (once) Great Britain? Hell, we aren't even in the top ten. I bet that has something to do with that 2nd Amendment thing that a bunch of them hate so bad.

Cops, detectives, FBI agents, U.S. soldiers will not enforce gun confiscation orders

An opinion on gun control

Gun Free Zones are hunting preserves for innocent people. Period.
Think about it. You are a violent, homicidal madman, looking to make a statement and hoping to go from disaffected loser to most famous person in the world. The best way to accomplish your goals is to kill a whole bunch of people. So where’s the best place to go shoot all these people? Obviously, it is someplace where nobody can shoot back.

A visit to a gun store

Writing this piece has left me with a very tight knot in my stomach that I have not had in decades. It's the feeling we're headed into a major civil war and there isn't a damned thing anyone can do about it.

http://piccoloshash.blogspot.com/2012/12/a-visit-to-gun-show.html

A very good perspective on what is going on. With a couple of good observations about what could happen if a ban was ever enacted.

Fear of being committed may have caused Connecticut gunman to snap

Could this be what set the killer off.

The gunman who slaughtered 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school may have snapped because his mother was planning to commit him to a psychiatric facility, according to a lifelong resident of the area who was familiar with the killer’s family and several of the victims’ families.
Anger at his mother over plans for “his future mental health treatment” is being looked at as a possible motive for the deadly shooting.

Could this be enough to send someone on a shooting spree? We may never no since the records are sealed.

Here’s How it Will be Done…

This is how the citizens of the United States will be disarmed.
No sudden, mass ban or attempt at confiscation – because that would probably lead to open violence on a large scale and they – people like Dear Leader Obama and his Vyshinsky, AG Eric Holder, know this.
So, instead, they will first pass “reasonable”restrictions.
They will target not guns – just dangerous guns. So easy to demagogue anything with, say, a high-capacity magazine. Or which looks “military.” Think how the ground has already been ceded by mainstream “gun rights” groups like the NRA – which invariably talk about “sportsmen” and “hunting.” Who needs an AR-15 (or Sig 220) to hunt?
(emphasis mine) I'm still looking for the word hunting in my copy of the Constitution.

Go read the whole thing. He has definitely put a lot of thought into this. The scary part is it sounds just exactly like what the gun haters and Constitution usurpers would do.  Actually, it's what they have been doing for years. Chipping away at our rights. Just a little bit, right here. Then just a little more over there. You'll never notice. Besides, it's not your right to something being infringed. As long as it someone else's right, what's the harm. After all, You're not being groped at the airport, it's someone else's Mother or child.

Gun hating Register is at it again.

This mornings editorial in the Register is another anti gun rant by people with no knowledge of firearms.

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20121219/OPINION03/312190041/1036/opinion01/?odyssey=nav|head

They don't know what they talk about, yet they keep yapping. The first point is, the definition of a "assault weapon". Assault weapons are a select fire weapon that can fire either semi-auto or full-auto. The  AR-15's in civilian hands aren't assault weapons. The only difference between them and the semi-auto hunting rifles is cosmetic.

I have invited the editorial board, on more than one occasion, to contact me. I offered a free safety class and a range trip to try and dispel the myth's that they believe to be truth. And yet I never get a response. They say we should be open minded when it comes to our rights, yet they refuse to investigate and learn.

Another Basu anti-gun rant.

"Those that would give up liberty for security deserve neither" B. Franklin

"Assault Weapon" is a term made up by gun hater Josh Sugarman to scare people that don't know better.

"Assault weapons—just like armor-piercing bullets, machine guns, and plastic firearms—are a new topic. The weapons' menacing looks, coupled with the public's confusion over fully automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons—anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine gun—can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on these weapons. In addition, few people can envision a practical use for these weapons."
-Josh Sugarmann, Assault Weapons and Accessories in America, 1988

Gun control was a hot topic in the early 1990s, when Congress enacted a 10-year ban on assault weapons. But since that ban expired in 2004,
Yeah, a "assault weapons ban that did nothing except ban flash suppressors and bayonet lugs. It had no effect on crime.

“One of the things he said was something to the effect of wanting to have a conversation about protecting our children,” said Burkett, who lives in Prairie City. “I think that’s a very valid conversation to have.”
Sorry, the conversation is over. The Supreme Court ruled in Heller that the right of the people to keep and bear arms meant exactly that. Then in the McDonald decision they incorporated the right to include state governments.
http://robertsgunshop.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-immanent-death-of-brady-bunch.html

Jayne said the first steps toward reducing gun violence could include closing a loophole that lets private parties sell guns at gun shows without requiring prospective buyers to go through background checks.

There is no "loophole". It's called the right to own and dispose of your private property. Felons are not going to gun shows to buy guns.

For example, he said, creating “gun-free zones” at places such as schools lets potential attackers know that they wouldn’t face armed resistance. “I don’t think it’s by accident that most of these tragedies that have happened within recent years happened in areas that are clearly marked where law-abiding citizens that are properly trained with firearms are disallowed from possessing them.”

I don't go to gun free zones with the one exception of the VA. Being the victim of a violent crime will open your eyes. I will never be a victim again.

State Rep. Tyler Olson, D-Cedar Rapids, said some gun restrictions could be made without infringing on constitutional rights. Restrictions on large gun magazines might be one area, he said.

“Features that turn weapons used for hunting and sport into high-powered killing machines, I think we should be able to have a rational discussion about those things,” Olson said. “I don’t know exactly what the outcome of that discussion is, but there’s no question now is the time to have it.”

Maybe you should go get a education about guns. What features turn a rifle into a killing machine? A pistol grip? a flash suppressor? A bayonet lug? If you don't know what you are talking about, you might want to keep your mouth and not prove yourself to be a fool.
That conversation is over. What part of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" don't you understand?

I am amazed at these lawmakers that would violate their oath to support and defend the Constitution to pass some feel good law that will do nothing. And the sheep fall right in line with them. It's just unbelievable that some people would be willing to throw away their rights just to feel safe. That's all it is too. It is a illusion of safety.

The sad truth of gun control

She knows firsthand what gun control does.

I remember the Luby's massacre. I was living in Texas at the time and it was hard to carry a gun. Ms. Gratia Hupp ran for congress in Texas and was a driving force in getting a good carry law passed.

Unfortunately, in this country, logic has been buried under political correctness.  Those in power whose ego is invested in brie et Chablisvalues that include scorn for the peasantry they accuse of “clinging to guns and Bibles” will never see that logic.  Children will continue to die in gun-free zones  hunting preserves for psychopathic murderers, and the cowardly murderers will continue to surrender or kill themselves as soon as armed good guys show up…far too late.

Read the whole thing. It's a eye opener.

What the gun haters want for us.

Watch this, this is what the liberal idiot pisswits want for our country. A increase in all crime because we all know the criminals will obey the law.

Sometimes I just scratch my head

We humans are creatures of habit. Today, 8 years after I was forced to retire, I still rise early. If I sleep until 7AM, I'm sleeping late. Morning coffee and check the local paper. Friday I was doing some reading on the net and decided to check my facebook page. The Collectivists Supporting Government Violence (CSGV) Had already started dancing in victim blood with the news link the had showed a shooting in Ct. with only a couple of victims. They couldn't even wait for the police to clear the area before starting in.

Yesterday, after we knew the facts and the gun haters were in full dance mode, I ended up on the CBS news site. I read 3 or 4 of the articles, but the fascinating part was reading the comments. I have no illusion that CBS is anything but a liberal site. But the number of people commenting and calling for the total ban on guns and repealing the 2nd Amendment astounded me. That people are that willing to give away their freedom for what? A false sense of security? A wise old man once said that "those that would give up freedom for security deserve neither". (B. Franklin 17XX).

Another quote I like is "those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And it seems to be true. We know the history of gun control in the 20th century, the millions killed by their own governments after gun control was enacted for "the public good". Do these people really trust the government that much? I don't. I don't believe that the government has my best interest in mind when that pass any law. The government has the governments best interest in mind.

If there is any good news at all, the principal and at least one teacher are heroes for trying to save lives. Teacher gives her life to save children. She got the kids into a closet or possibly a bathroom and when the murderer* came in she told him the kids were elsewhere, he then executed her. I read in one report that the Principal lunged at the murderer* to try and stop him.

There's a lot of other news and I'll just leave the links and you can read them at your leisure.

Australian politicians agree with gun control advocates Stay on your side of the world.

Liberals calling for the murder of NRA members Nice way to show tolerance of others, let's murder them.

Westboro church to protest at Sandy Hook. Scumbags one and all.

Some Democrats want to talk gun control, Many don't They know what happened the last time.

Against Monsters This one is by Mas Ayoob and is a excellent take on the tragedy.

Then we have the Israeli solution that was put in action after this atrocity

Ma'alot massacre.

Yeah, like that would ever happen here.

* I will never print the name of which ever scumbag happens to be in the news. I firmly believe that the press is giving these scumbags exactly what they want, publicity. They know the press will print or broadcast every aspect of their lives, giving them their 15 minutes.

Illinois gun carry ban "Unconstitutional"

The 7th circuit has decided that Illinois' complete ban on the carrying of weapons for self defense is Unconstitutional. I bet there's a lot of butt hurt in Chicagoland today. From the decision;

Twenty-first century Illinois has no hostile Indians. But a Chicagoan is a good deal more likely to be attacked on a sidewalk in a rough neighborhood than in his apartment on the 35th floor of the Park Tower. A woman who is being stalked or has obtained a protective order against a violent ex-husband is more vulnerable to being attacked while walking to or from her home than when inside. She has a stronger self-defense claim to be allowed to carry a gun in public than the resident of a fancy apartment building (complete with doorman) has a claim to sleep with a loaded gun under her mattress. But Illinois wants to deny the former claim, while compelled by McDonald to honor the latter. That creates an arbitrary difference. To confine the right to be armed to the home is to divorce the Second Amendment from the right of self-defense described in Heller and McDonald. It is not a property right—a right to kill a house guest who in a fit of aesthetic fury tries to slash your copy of Norman Rockwell’s painting Santa with Elves. That is not self-defense, and this case like Heller and McDonald is just about self-defense. . .
We are disinclined to engage in another round of historical analysis to determine whether eighteenth-century America understood the Second Amendment to include a right to bear guns outside the home. The Supreme Court has decided that the amendment confers a right to bear arms for self-defense, which is as important outside the home as inside. The theoretical and empirical evidence (which overall is inconclusive) is consistent with concluding that a right to carry firearms in public may promote self-defense. Illinois had to provide us with more than merely a rational basis for believing that its uniquely sweeping ban is justified by an increase in public safety. It has failed to meet this burden. The Supreme Court’s interpretation of the Second Amendment therefore compels us to reverse the decisions in the two cases before us and remand them to their respective district courts for the entry of declarations of unconstitutionality and permanent injunctions. Nevertheless we order our mandate stayed for 180 days to allow the Illinois legislature to craft a new gun law that will impose reasonable limitations, consistent with the public safety and the Second Amendment as interpreted in this opinion, on the carrying of guns in public.

Take that Rahm and all of you Bradyites. SAF had this to say

BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation has won a huge victory for the right to bear arms outside the home, with a ruling in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals that declares the right to self-defense is “broader than the right to have a gun in one’s home.”
The case of Moore v. Madigan, with Judge Richard Posner writing for the majority, gives the Illinois legislature 180 days to "craft a new gun law that will impose reasonable limitations, consistent with the public safety and the Second Amendment…on the carrying of guns in public.”

The gun haters keep saying we need aa "conversation" about gun control. We had it, they lost. The 7th circuit said so.

I stole this from Sean, who stole it from someone else. The Brady Bunch has been bleeding members for years. It's so bad they have been selling the e-mail addresses of their supporters to raise funds.

It looks like, unless Illinois wants to waste more money, they will join the other 49 states with lawful carry. I can see this going to the SCOTUS. The same one that found for the 2nd Amendment in both Heller and McDonald.

Jason Whitlock is an Idiot

Jason's idiot rant.

How many young people have to die senselessly? How many lives have to be ruined before we realize the right to bear arms doesn’t protect us from a government equipped with stealth bombers, predator drones, tanks and nuclear weapons?

As soon as a gun hater brings nukes into the argument, they lose. Does this idiot really think the government is stupid enough to set off a nuke on our own soil? Oh please.

What I believe is, if he didn’t possess/own a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.

Really? A six foot pluss over 200 pound man couldn't kill a small woman with his bare hands? Or beat her to death with many of the objects in most homes. What about a hammer? A common tool found in most homes can be turned into a deadly weapon in a heartbeat.

Here's a open letter to Bob Costas and Jason Whitlock.

Gentlemen: I see that you have chosen to use the horrific crime of the murder of Kasandra Perkins to express your belief that guns are the problem, not the men who wield them. I am utterly certain that you believe that you have the moral high ground on this matter. I am equally certain that such a belief is appallingly wrong, not to mention terribly misogynistic. Why do I say this? Because had your desires on gun control been in place, I would not be alive to be writing this now.
I have an Ex. I have an Ex who, in the process of becoming my Ex, made credible threats to kill me. Why did I believe these threats were credible? Because among the primary reasons why I left him were that he had anger control issues, that he was a problem drinker well on his way to full blown alcoholism and that the things he was throwing at me were getting ever closer to my head. I decided to leave before finally snapped and actually hit me. He was displeased by this and made such displeasure known.

Read this whole thing

To top off everything else this idiot asshat says, he went on a talk show and called the NRA the "New KKK".

How dare him. Really? the new KKK? here's a clue asshole, I've been a NRA member for years. I've never lynched a black person. I've never shot a black person. My next door neighbor is black, nice guy and they have 4 wonderful kids. I've been friends with black people for years.

I've never gotten a set of white sheets from the NRA. Your blaming us for the gang and drug problem that are decimating the youth in places like Chicago. It's not my fault. I don't furnish guns to hoods and thugs. I don't sell drugs. You insult 4 million honest, law abiding people by comparing us to a organization that was started in 1865 by southern democrats. Among those 4 million are Whites, Blacks, Hispanics and Asians. We all have one thing in common, we all believe the 2nd Amendment means what it says. At the NRA yearly meetings there are only one type of people there, Americans.

You, Jason Whitlock, need to dig a hole, jump in and pull it in after you. You are nothing but a racist asshole. Take your buddy Bob Costas with you.

Gun hating Mayors tend to be criminals

SAF is fighting back against Bloomberg and his minions

Mayors Against illegal All Guns sure has a poor track record. Back in July of 2011 we looked at the list of Mayors that were in serious trouble. There were 11 of them on our list. Well, here just 17 months later the list is up to 18.

They like to vilify gun owners and yet their own people have a higher incidence of criminal activity. If your mayor belongs to this criminal organization, write, call,e-mail, get your friends involved. Demand that they quit this bunch of criminals and leave the law abiding gun owners alone. If they expended as much energy working to reduce crime we might actually see a reduction. Of course when you belong to a criminal organization like this, I guess it's "professional courtesy".

I wrote to our own Mayor here in Des Moines over a year ago. I never did get a response. Sadly, the election in 2011 he ran unopposed. Hopefully we can find a good candidate to run against him the next time.

Rants, raves and reviews

Let's start with a review.

http://www.enemiesforeignanddomestic.com/

Matt Bracken is a former SEAL and one great author. Everyone should read his Enemies Trilogy. Catstigo Cay is the last novel he wrote. It's fast paced and a really great read. The hero, Dan Kilmer is a former Marine now cruising around the Caribbean on a 60ft. sailboat. It has plenty of intrigue and action. I found it hard to put down because we want to know what's going to happen next. All of his books are available on Amazon. I get the Kindle editions. There are more reviews on Amazon you can check out. I just purchased the Bracken Anthology, a collection of short stories and observations.

Review #2,

Frog Lube.
I got a sample of this back in the summer and decided to give it a try. To say I was impressed is understatement at it's finest. I started with my old Llama .45. It was like the slide was mounted on ball bearings. Frog Lube is a food grade lubricant, developed for the harsh environment that the SEAL's work in. It's formulated to be absorbed into the metal and build up a permanent protective coating. It's easy to apply and works the best if the metal is warm.

I took a fresh from the box AR15, stripped it, heated it in the oven and coated it inside and out with Frog Lube. We (youngest son and I) fires a couple hundred round through it and the only failure was a ammo issue. We field stripped it there and everything was still clean and shiny. I'm going to add more lube and see just how much shooting it will take before there is a non ammo failure.

I was so impressed I became a dealer. Come by the show this weekend and Check it out. It's far better that any petroleum products I have used. The part I like the best is it's not temperature sensitive. Some of the heavier gun oils will freeze up and quit if the temp gets too low.

Rant.

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20121118/OPINION04/311180034/1038/OPINION04/Letter-editor-Now-time-take-NRA?nclick_check=1

In Sundays Register there was a letter vilifying the NRA and calling for the President to do whatever it takes to enact gun control. This guy is supposedly a retired Marine Colonel. If that's true he should be stripped of his EGA and made to turn in his man card. So much for the oath he took.

    Officers Oath
I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God

I don't see anything in the officers oath that says to only defend the parts of the Constitution I like. To make matters even worse, one of the commenter's even said it would be OK to murder 4 million NRA members if that's what it took. Gee, haw about another holocaust. It's only been 70 years since the last roundup of people the government didn't like.

Go read the whole letter. Don't forget to read the comments and maybe even leave one.

The face of evil

Before the election, Fineswine (D, Kommifornia) was already planning to introduce a new and improved "assault weapons" ban. One that would outlaw almost every semi-auto rifle and handgun in the country. With Obama winning the election, these gun hating asshats think they now have a "mandate" to foist their misbegotten opinions on those of us that believe in the Constitution. A bunch of the Bradyites are dancing and clapping, claiming the NRA is now irrelevant. They live in their little fairy-tale world and think that the battle is over. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We, the law abiding citizens that own those "evil assault weapons" will never stop the good fight. They have won nothing. The are falsely under the impression that their savior is going to suddenly ban the guns they don't like. Not going to happen. For one thing, the Republicans still control the house. Most of the R's and quite a few of the D's are pro gun. Any bill the haters submit is going to die in the House.

Chuck Woolery explains why we not only need so called assault weapons, he explains why it is our right.

Why no report on Fast and Furious?

http://www.examiner.com/article/homeland-security-inspector-general-s-report-on-fast-and-furious-still-unfiled

A review of press releases issued by the Department of Homeland Security, the latest being filed Sunday and dealing with DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano’s visit to Staten Island for a Hurricane Sandy follow-up, reveals the department is crediting itself with all kinds of activities and accomplishments except for its commitment to produce an Inspector General report onFast and Furious gunwalking independent ofthe Department of Justice report released in September. A review of the DHS OIG press releases on its website, with the latest filing also being yesterday, also does not mention such a report.

Read all of David's article. He askes the questions that a lot of us want answers to. Just how deep does this cover up go? What seems to be the hold up? They keep trying to hide the facts. Maybe they should read the SCOTUS decision US v Nixon. The coverup is worse than the crime it's self.

These are the people that are in charge of our security? We're screwed.

Happy Birthday USMC

237 years ago today, in Tun Tavern in Philadelphia  the first company of Marines was recruited to protect the Navy's ships. In 1921, The Commandant of the Marine Corps, Major General John Lejune issued the following order.

MARINE CORPS ORDERS
No. 47 (Series 1921)
HEADQUARTERS U.S. MARINE CORPS
Washington, November 1, 1921
759. The following will be read to the command on the 10th of November, 1921, and hereafter on the 10th of November of every year. Should the order not be received by the 10th of November, 1921, it will be read upon receipt.
(1) On November 10, 1775, a Corps of Marines was created by a resolution of Continental Congress. Since that date many thousand men have borne the name “Marine”. In memory of them it is fitting that we who are Marines should commemorate the birthday of our corps by calling to mind the glories of its long and illustrious history.
(2) The record of our corps is one which will bear comparison with that of the most famous military organizations in the world’s history. During 90 of the 146 years of its existence the Marine Corps has been in action against the Nation’s foes. From the Battle of Trenton to the Argonne, Marines have won foremost honors in war, and in the long eras of tranquility at home, generation after generation of Marines have grown gray in war in both hemispheres and in every corner of the seven seas, that our country and its citizens might enjoy peace and security.
(3) In every battle and skirmish since the birth of our corps, Marines have acquitted themselves with the greatest distinction, winning new honors on each occasion until the term “Marine” has come to signify all that is highest in military efficiency and soldierly virtue.
(4) This high name of distinction and soldierly repute we who are Marines today have received from those who preceded us in the corps. With it we have also received from them the eternal spirit which has animated our corps from generation to generation and has been the distinguishing mark of the Marines in every age. So long as that spirit continues to flourish Marines will be found equal to every emergency in the future as they have been in the past, and the men of our Nation will regard us as worthy successors to the long line of illustrious men who have served as “Soldiers of the Sea” since the founding of the Corps.
JOHN A. LEJEUNE,
Major General Commandant
75705—21

Also, today is the birthday of 2 very special people. Audra Williams, the best daughter anyone could ask for and Bradley, a wonderful grandson and one of my fishing buddies.
