THE FOUR RULES

1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.

2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.

3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.

4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.

Winston Churchill said
"A GENTLEMAN, SELDOM, IF EVER, NEEDS A GUN.
BUT WHEN HE DOES, HE NEEDS IT VERY BADLY!"
Si Vis Paceum Para Bellum

Sam Adams, more than beer

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen”
Samuel Adams

Lincoln on power

"We must prevent these things being done, by either congresses or courts — The people — the people — are the rightful masters of both Congresses, and courts — not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it —" Abraham Lincoln

The Lynching

Bill Whittle says it better than anyone I have heard.

17 year old murderers

Everyone keeps talking about poor Trayvon. The 17 year old that was beating the hell out of Zimmerman. All of this outrage because he was 17. So what. Here's a couple of examples of what 17 year olds can do.

17 year old soccer player kills referee with one punch.

One punch and a man is dead.

Ricardo Portillo, 46, was refereeing a youth soccer match near Salt Lake City when he called a penalty against the goalie. He issued the teen a yellow card, and the player retaliated by punching Portillo in the jaw, NBC's Salt Lake City affiliate KSL reports.
Portillo died after being in a week-long coma. Court records obtained by KSL state that an autopsy revealed his death was "a result of injuries related to the blow to his head."

Portillo, who leaves behind three daughters and four grandchildren.

Then we have this gem.

A 17 year old beats a cop to death.

The 17-year-old arrested in the violent beating death of an El Paso police officer last month is now charged with capital murder, court records show.
A state district court grand jury indicted Juan Antonio Gonzalez on Tuesday in connection with the brutal beating of Officer Jonathan Molina, 29, on Sept. 25 on a Central El Paso street. Molina died nine days after the attack.

According to court documents, Molina suffered a fractured skull, internal head injuries and multiple facial fractures.
Yeah, innocent 17 year olds. I enlisted in the marines when I was 17. By my 18th Birthday, 8 weeks into the 13 week term, I knew how to choke someone to death, how to shoot them at long range, shoot someone at close range with a .45 and how to use a bayonet up close and personal. Skills that I have never had to use.

Massad Ayoob on Zimmerman

Mas Ayoob has a good rundown of the whole Zimmerman thing. He also answers why he was silent until now.

Part one

Minutes ago as I write this, justice has triumphed in a courtroom in Sanford, Florida. I wish to congratulate six brave, honest, intelligent jurors.  And two fine defense lawyers. And the honest cops and witnesses who testified, and the many who contributed to the defense fund for a wrongfully accused armed citizen.

Part two

It seems that the verdict of a sworn jury in our criminal justice system means little to the haters, who are still screaming that George Zimmerman killed “an unarmed seventeen-year-old.”  Given that seventeen is old enough to enlist in the Marine Corps and to be tried as an adult – the Gainesville Sun recently headlined that a “sixteen-year-old man” was to be charged with murder in the selfsame Florida criminal justice system – the age issue doesn’t hold a lot of water when seen through a clear glass.

Part three

Welcome to the new commentators here, many of whom seem to feel that Zimmerman started the encounter, a concept that concerns many of our regulars as well. Whenever there’s a fight, no matter the degree of consequences, the first question is always “who started it?”

More to come.

Dogs life

The bulb in the lamp behind my chair went out. I trekked down to the man cave and found the proper bulb and proceeded to change it. I looked down into the seat of my chair and this is what I saw.

Two  Dachshunds, on their backs enjoying the A/C.  Yeah. I want to lead a dogs life.

What government fears most: blacks and whites united with guns

Go read this. Some really good things to think about. The Government want to be the only ones armed, for our "own good". We peons can't be trusted with our own defense. This type of thinking by those in positions of power bring us things like Fast and Furious. Now Holder is going to "investigate" the Florida stand your ground laws. Even though they had nothing to do with the Zimmerman case. It's why the DOJ, even though the FBI has already investigated is trying to make the Zimmerman/Martin ordeal about race. If they can keep the racial tension going, they can maintain control.

If good men and women of every skin color come to the aid of their country, by standing together against criminals of every stripe, by declaring their own right to bear arms, this will be a different and better place.

It won’t be what the federal government wants, and it won’t be what great numbers of pussified and brainwashed citizens want. That’s called a clue. It’s a clue about where you should stand.

For the last 30 years, working as a reporter, I have encountered many venal scumbags on both the political left and right, who do everything in their power to freeze the body politic into a trance in the “middle,” so that people who venture far enough to the right and left do not meet, behind the barn.
Because you see, under natural and unimpeded conditions, that’s exactly where they         would meet. Black people, white people, brown people, yellow people, all shades.

People on the left discover that the big and warm and giving government they love for its charity is actually an android juggernaut of control. People on the right, who want limited government, discover they want those limits to be so severe the whole stinking mess of federal power should be dismantled down to its shoelaces.

And around the back of the barn, these people blink and look at each other. And, after the shock wears off, they wake up. They realize they are in a most fortunate place.

They begin to talk. The programmatic Marxist bullshit goes down the drain. The programmatic conservative bullshit-of-privilege goes down the drain. The common ground they find is: decentralization of power.Nullification, through all available means, of overweening illegitimate coercion.

Freedom.
And among those freedoms? The right to bear arms.
For all the right reasons.
