THE FOUR RULES

1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.

2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.

3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.

4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.

Winston Churchill said
"A GENTLEMAN, SELDOM, IF EVER, NEEDS A GUN.
BUT WHEN HE DOES, HE NEEDS IT VERY BADLY!"
Si Vis Paceum Para Bellum

Sam Adams, more than beer

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen”
Samuel Adams

Lincoln on power

"We must prevent these things being done, by either congresses or courts — The people — the people — are the rightful masters of both Congresses, and courts — not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it —" Abraham Lincoln

Catching up

Let's start with the IFC/NRA rally Saturday.

I got there and got set up in plenty of time. I had 5 different handguns and 3 rifles for people to try out if they wanted, or the could shoot their own and even share with their friends. A special tip of the hat to Mike McGowan. He brought a couple more rifles for the table and the ACSR was a big hit. It was a busy and more importantly a safe day. It seems like we had a bigger crowd than last year. I'm already looking forward to next year. It's one of the best jobs I don't get paid for. A special thanks also to Brownell's. This is the third year they have opened their range and been a major sponsor of the event. I know I thank them by trying to spend my money with them for the parts and tools I need. Everyone should support them every chance you get. They have always been helpful when I have called and they are always ready to find a answer if they don't know.

Letters

One of my favorite parts of any newspaper is the letters to the editor. They can be so much fun and with a internet presence, the comments can be even more fun. There was a letter Saturday that was mostly satire even though some couldn't see it. It got a lot more interesting in the comments. One commenter named Ron McCune had some rather interesting ideas about gun ownership.

Now I know a lot of you are wondering how are we going to pass laws that will keep laws out of the hands of criminals but allow law abiding citizens to buy guns. Well that is easy to devise such a law. I have been trying for a long time to get this law passed. The law simply says that we can buy guns but all we are allowed to buy are two MORE guns. Certified hunters and rural farmers/ranchers can buy a several more. But that is all the guns we can buy. You can keep the guns you already have but will be allowed to only buy two more guns.

What's troubling is this guy is serious. We would be "allowed" to buy 2 more guns? Go read the whole comment.

This part was rather interesting too.
In the old days before criminals were able to get guns we the people stood up to criminals and challenged them to not do wrong but with guns we are scared to face the criminals

When was this magical time that criminals didn't have guns? It must have been before guns were even invented. The day after guns were invented, criminals were looking at ways to use them. Of course a little research shows us where he gets these weird ideas, He's from Chicago, the most violent city in the country. Last weekend alone 37 people were shot, 9 fatally. And just how is that gun control working for you Ron?

New York shooting

The shooter in New York killed one person and was then killed by the police. The police fired 16 rounds between the two of them and 9 innocent bystanders were either hit with gunfire or ricochets and flying pieces of debris. I watched the video and to the 2 cops credit, they didn't have a lot of time to do much. With the adrenalin that got dumped into their systems, I was surprised they didn't fire to slide lock. The shooter did not fire at the police. He did point his gun at them, so I think that by holding his fire, he committed suicide by cop.

Finally, penalizing a 3 year old because of his name.

Go read this.

This is living proof that when some people get a position of power, they lose all sense. common or otherwise. We desperately need to get these liberal idiot pisswits out of our education system. They have carried "zero tolerance" to a whole new level. Like the youngster punished for waving a "gun" shaped piece of pizza. Or the girl suspended for having nail clippers. I remember more than one suspended or otherwise punished for drawing a picture that even resembled a gun. Excuse me for this, but, have we lost our fucking minds???

I'll have to find out the date next year and get time off to go. That MG42 was something I've always wanted to see/ shoot.

I didn't get over to the F/A range. But since they were the next range over I got to listen to them all day. It's well worth the trip. They say we had over 1500 people this year.
