The Democratic legislator hopes gun owners will surrender the weapons
No! Not only no, but Hell no. We will not turn in our weapons.
State Rep. Dan Muhlbauer, D-Manilla, says Iowa lawmakers should ban semi-automatic guns and "start taking them" from owners who refuse to surrender any illegal firearms through a buy-back program.
Read his whole idiotic screed.
Take them? How in the holy hell did this fool get elected to congress? The people in his district must be real sheep.
Muhlbauer, who did not list the specific weapons he wants outlawed in The Daily Times Herald interview, said he would like to see the ban implemented in a retroactive fashion.Too many? In who's opinion? Yours? You keep say you need to take them. Well, I'll be here all day you coward. Coward! Yes you are a coward because you wouldn't have the balls to show up here and try to take my guns. You would instead send someone else to do your bidding while you hide at the State house where law abiding citizens are forbidden to carry guns. That's probably a good thing for you. Maybe you had better sponsor a ban on rope while you're at it.
"Even if you have them, I think we need to start taking them," Muhlbauer said. "We can't have those out there. Because if they're out there they're just going to get circulated around to the wrong people. Those guns should not be in the public's hands. There are just too many guns."
A voice of reason.
Templeton Mayor Ken Behrens, a Republican, said Muhlbauer's proposal smacks of an overreach that is out of touch with Carroll County.
"I would hate to see a law where it would be mandated that somebody start taking guns," Behrens said. "I don't think that would go over well."
Talk about a understatement. The comments are a telling example of just how stupid this fool is, Like this one.
I have a very close friend in the DMPD, who asked that I post this here for him, as he fears reprisals:Get that asshole, take them yourself. Start here.
"Why is ii ugly statist trolls are always so eager to get us law officers killed for their beliefs? You got another thing coming creep if you think myself or my fellow officers are going to commit suicide by carrying out any such illegal order.
You'd have us trample on essential liberties, and put everything we hold dear at risk.
My kids have to go to school with the people you want me to kick the doors in on. My wife works with the people you want me to gun-down. My house is right next to all the families you'd have me assault - yes I said ASSAULT.
No way. No d*&^ way. These are my neighbors, friends, and family. We work our collective butts off, trying to keep these people safe! You'd have us turn our weapons on them?
I, and most of my fellow officers will not be a party to this. We are PEACE KEEPERS. We are SHEEP-DOGS.
We are not "goons" or "stormtroopers" at the beckon call of some schmuck out to make his name by chasing tragedies.
If you want to disarm the people of Iowa, then you strap on a vest, and take them yourself you authoritarian coward.
In fact if it comes to that, you can have MINE, cause I will quit, and a hell of alot of my comrades will stand right alongside me. Your stupid anti-liberty agenda is not worth my blood, the blood of my fellow officers, or the blood my my family.
Take them yourself.

He sound like the kind of guy that would by a gun from Dick's Sporting Goods.
Very good response from the police officer. I had already responded similarly on my blog. The career politicians forget where they live.
MrGarabaldi, They also seem to forget who they work for.
"Take them yourself."
QOTD material right there.
Two term Iowa House District 12 Representative Dan Muhlbauer was beat 55-45% by political newcomer Brian Best in this important western Iowa statehouse race. Muhlbauer came out after the Sandy Hook tragedy and wanted to ban all semi-automatics and make the ban retroactive. His actual words are on several youtubes. Anti-gun politicians are pretty slippery, he told the newspaper that that he has not voted against the second amendment. Gosh, he wasn't at the constitutional convention in 1787 so I guess he is technically correct. What next? Dan didn't vote against George Washington. This bum is gone from politics. Lots of gun people got involved in the campaign. Spread the good news.
