THE FOUR RULES

1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.

2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.

3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.

4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.

"A GENTLEMAN, SELDOM, IF EVER, NEEDS A GUN.
BUT WHEN HE DOES, HE NEEDS IT VERY BADLY!"

Sam Adams, more than beer

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen”
Samuel Adams

Lincoln on power

"We must prevent these things being done, by either congresses or courts — The people — the people — are the rightful masters of both Congresses, and courts — not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it —" Abraham Lincoln

This week has to be better

Last week sucked, no doubt about it. Monday, the dishwasher died. It tripped the breaker, I guess the motor went out. Since I was busy getting ready for the gun show last week, I didn't have the time to check it out.

Tuesday I took a order for 700 rounds of 300 Blackout brass. He needed it by Friday, the first day of the gun show. It's not that big of a deal, except for re-sizing, the initial cutting and the trimming are motorized. Then I have to manually chamfer and bevel each case. I've figured out a way to speed up the process and I'll get a chance to try it out, my customer has 1100 rounds of nickel plated bass he wants converted.

Everything else went fine, until Friday. At 0630, SW turned on the TV in the living room for the news and it flashed once and died. Great. After some discussion and a quick check of finances, we went and got a new one. We had been talking about it for a while, but as long as the old one worked, we weren't in a big hurry.

Got the new TV home and set up just in time to load up for the gun show. The gun show. Shit. This was probably the worst show I've ever done. After expenses, I made less than 200 bucks. I wasn't the only one either. Everyone I talked to said sales were down. The crowd wasn't as big either but I think that had a lot to do with the weather.

Speaking of the gun show, Why do people have to coonfinger (Thanks Tam) a box of ammo before they set it back down and walk off. Have they never seen ammo before? I sell re-manufactured (06 FFL) ammo. I put it in white cardboard boxes that have styrofoam inserts. Because of that, I guess they need to open it and see what is inside. Even though every box is labeled with the caliber, bullet size and bullet type. I have one box of .45 ACP 200gr SWC that has been handled and opened so often, that I'm going to have to put it in a new box. I've thought about getting colored tape and sealing every box. Then add a sign that says if you break the seal, you buy the box.

Another thing that never fails, every show, someone asks for some obscure caliber. I load all of the popular pistol and rifle calibers and a few that aren't all that popular. Yet every show, someone can show up and ask for something I don't have. After a point, you have to tell them no, unless they want to pay for the setup.  For a pistol caliber, that would be the cost of the dies, the shell plate and the turret. I am going to add 45 Schofield and 44-40 because I have been asked enough for those. They use the same shell plate so that will save a little on set up.

This week just has to be better. It did get off to a good start. I did nothing yesterday. I even checked the mail in my pajamas. Today, not so much. I'm going to have to get out in the cold and get some things done.

what thinkest thou of the new R.I.P. frag rounds from G2 Research. so far only available in 9mm at $45 per box of 20 or..$2.25 a round. Seen all the hype G2R is ginning up and spamming all over facebook just to see one place I'm seeing it. Color me as fuck by the spamming and singularly unimpressed with the hype and sales vids.
A couple friends, when you put what they say together thinkest thusly.
'Oh look another cool sounding bullet to separate tacticool gun bunnies from their monies and something else that because it SOUNDS scary, for the frackin feds to make illegal'

From what I've seen so far, I'm not impressed. The price is enough to keep me away, plus the fact I don't own a 9mm. I think they are a lawsuit waiting to happen. I agree that it's just some more "tacticool" bullshit to sell to the keyboard rangers.

I think I'll hang on to my 185gr JHC's that I have in my carry gun. I trust Honaday's bullets a lot more than what these knuckleheads are selling.
