Death sentence for trespassing

Homeless veteran 'basically baked to death' at Rikers Island while being held on trespassing charge

A city official told The Associated Press that the incident, which happened last month, involved a 56-year-old inmate named Jerome Murdough, who police found in a housing project stairwell and brought to Rikers Island jail.


Alma Murdough is demanding answers after ex-Marine son Jerome (far r.) died of extreme heat at Rikers.


I was a Marine. Does that mean I'm already sentenced to death? I did not personally know Jerome, but there is a chance that are paths crossed when we were both Marines. At the least, or boots walked the same dirt. The Marine Corps isn't all that big. Even though his skin is a different color than mine, he was still my brother. The idiots in charge need to be charge with his murder. He was supposed to be checked on every 15 minutes and yet it was hours before they found him. Sentenced to death for trespassing.
