The War on Guns: We're the Only Ones Planting Enough
Be sure to read the full interview. It makes you wonder how many innocent people this asshole has sent to jail. And according to him, pretty much the whole department is corrupt. How many departments around the country is this going on at? Yours? Mine? Remember, you too can be framed at a traffic stop.
I generally support and respect the police. I've seen the department here get rid of several officers for violating peoples rights or just plain brutality. Recently, they fired a woman beater. They were forced to hire him back by a review board. But things like this should shake up peoples thoughts that police are the "protectors" of all that is good. They are becoming more like a occupying army than peace officers. Sending SWAT teams to serve trivial warrants. Acquiring equipment suited for use on the battle field. I noticed a while back that even quiet little Des Moines has a armored vehicle.
The small city to our north used a SWAT team to raid a house over a credit card case. What ever happened to a couple of detectives showing up and talking to the suspects? Now we have to break down doors and kill people and their pets? Luckily, in the Ankeny credit card case, no one was injured. They did however destroy the homeowners security cameras and door. This shit needs to stop.
