THE FOUR RULES

1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.

2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.

3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.

4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.

Winston Churchill said
"A GENTLEMAN, SELDOM, IF EVER, NEEDS A GUN.
BUT WHEN HE DOES, HE NEEDS IT VERY BADLY!"
Si Vis Paceum Para Bellum

Sam Adams, more than beer

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen”
Samuel Adams

Lincoln on power

"We must prevent these things being done, by either congresses or courts — The people — the people — are the rightful masters of both Congresses, and courts — not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it —" Abraham Lincoln

Someone is offended by a battlefield cross?

The only people that could possibly be offended by this are liberal idiot pisswits. The citizens of Milford need to vote these scumbags out of office. Tar and feathers would work for me.

I completely agree that the City Council are Swine. but that plaque is, let's face it, gibberish. It reads like someone had it explained to them, then two or three days later wrote down their partial memories. What is "lost in the battlefield", a navigational error? The practice of leaving a bayoneted rifle stuck in the ground, with or without headgear, to identify the location of a wounded (or dead) soldier for the medics (or graves registration) is at least as old as the US Civil War. It's done because the unit has to move on right sharply to y'know, fight the damned war. They certainly didn't wrestle the guy's boots off and have a little ceremony while the shooting was still going on. I've been in remembrance ceremonies where the boots, rifle, and helmet were used, sometimes placed where the fallen would have been within the ranks, sometimes centered in front of the formation. I personally never heard the term "battle cross" used for this set up at the time. I don't object to it, but I never heard it. Again, the City Council are Class A Jerks but that plaque needs a serious rewrite. Wafa Wafa Wasara Wasara.
