THE FOUR RULES
1. ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED.
2. NEVER POINT YOUR MUZZLE AT SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.
3. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET AND YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT.
4. KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT'S BEYOND.
Winston Churchill said
"A GENTLEMAN, SELDOM, IF EVER, NEEDS A GUN.
BUT WHEN HE DOES, HE NEEDS IT VERY BADLY!"

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. The night before
Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house made of plaster & stone.
I had come down the chimney with presents to give
And to see just who in this home did live.
In a one bedroom house made of plaster & stone.
I had come down the chimney with presents to give
And to see just who in this home did live.
I looked all about a strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures of far distant lands.
No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures of far distant lands.
With medals and badges, awards of all kind
A sober thought came through my mind.
For this house was different, so dark and dreary,
I knew I had found the home of a soldier, once I could see clearly.
A sober thought came through my mind.
For this house was different, so dark and dreary,
I knew I had found the home of a soldier, once I could see clearly.
I heard stories about them, I had to see more
So I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.
And there he lay sleeping silent alone,
Curled up on the floor in his one bedroom home.
So I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.
And there he lay sleeping silent alone,
Curled up on the floor in his one bedroom home.
His face so gentle, his room in such disorder,
Not how I pictured a United States soldier.
Was this the hero of whom I’d just read?
Curled up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?
Not how I pictured a United States soldier.
Was this the hero of whom I’d just read?
Curled up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?
His head was clean shaven, his weathered face tan,
I soon understood this was more than a man.
For I realized the families that I saw that night
Owed their lives to these men who were willing to fight.
I soon understood this was more than a man.
For I realized the families that I saw that night
Owed their lives to these men who were willing to fight.
Soon ‘round the world, the children would play,
And grownups would celebrate on a bright Christmas day.
They all enjoyed freedom each month of the year,
Because of soldiers like this one lying here.
And grownups would celebrate on a bright Christmas day.
They all enjoyed freedom each month of the year,
Because of soldiers like this one lying here.
I couldn’t help wonder how many lay alone
On a cold Christmas Eve in a land far from home.
Just the very thought brought a tear to my eye,
I dropped to my knees and started to cry.
On a cold Christmas Eve in a land far from home.
Just the very thought brought a tear to my eye,
I dropped to my knees and started to cry.
The soldier awakened and I heard a rough voice,
“Santa don’t cry, this life is my choice;
I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more,
my life is my God, my country, my Corps.”
“Santa don’t cry, this life is my choice;
I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more,
my life is my God, my country, my Corps.”
With that he rolled over and drifted off into sleep,
I couldn’t control it, I continued to weep.
I watched him for hours, so silent and still,
I noticed he shivered from the cold night’s chill.
I couldn’t control it, I continued to weep.
I watched him for hours, so silent and still,
I noticed he shivered from the cold night’s chill.
So I took off my jacket, the one made of red,
And I covered this Soldier from his toes to his head.
And I put on his T-shirt of gray and black,
With an eagle and an Army patch embroidered on back.
And I covered this Soldier from his toes to his head.
And I put on his T-shirt of gray and black,
With an eagle and an Army patch embroidered on back.
And although it barely fit me, I began to swell with pride,
And for a shining moment, I was United States Army deep inside.
I didn’t want to leave him on that cold dark night,
This guardian of honor so willing to fight.
And for a shining moment, I was United States Army deep inside.
I didn’t want to leave him on that cold dark night,
This guardian of honor so willing to fight.
Then the soldier rolled over, whispered with a voice so clean and pure,
“Carry on Santa, it’s Christmas Day, all is secure.”
One look at my watch, and I knew he was right,
Merry Christmas my friend, and to all a good night!
“Carry on Santa, it’s Christmas Day, all is secure.”

God speed John Glenn ans Semper Fi
John Glenn was truly a American hero. 1921 to 2016
Now he has slipped the surly bonds of earth and reached out and touched the face of God.
There is a lot of good information on the NASA site about the Mercury project.
I remember as a child watching every space launch. Most of them, we watched at school. Starting in the 1st grade. Mercury, Gemini, Apollo. The first walk on the moon. It was a great time to be a child with a vivid imagination.
Semper Fi John Glenn, first and always a Marine.

So Fidel Castro is dead. This is not my sad face.
I was standing in the Angolan bush, along with a group of UNITA rebels. They were cleaning up after a firefight - which meant leaving the enemy bodies where they had fallen, but stripping them of their weapons, uniforms and supplies. Everything would be washed, cleaned, repaired if necessary, and reissued to new owners, who would use it to kill more of the enemy.
Among the dead were two very young Cuban conscripts, some of the tens of thousands of troops sent by Fidel Castro to prop up the brutal pro-Communist regime in Angola. They were probably well under 20 years old. They hadn't even finished growing; they still had that gangling, slightly disjointed look of late adolescence. Both looked as if they didn't yet need to shave every day. They never would, now. Their AK-47's were still half-slung. They hadn't even managed to raise them to a firing position before the RPD bullets found them.

Veterans Day
The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. The official end of the war to end all wars. Or so we thought. Just shy of 20 years later, a madman taught us what true evil could do.
Since 1775, men and women have held up their right hand and took a oath to defend this country. All of them gave something, some of them gave more and some gave all they had. Think of our veterans not only today, but every day. Those that have gone before and those that are serving now. A little prayer never hurts.

The Right to Arms and the American Philosophy of Freedom
By Nelson Lund, Ph.D.
This is a bit long but well worth the time.
Thanks to Madd Medic
The Founders of our republic did not think an armed citizenry was the product of a childish infatuation with guns or a response to life on the frontier, and the philosophers who guided them can help us to see why the right to arms continues to deserve its place in our fundamental law. The U.S. Constitution, including the Second Amendment, is a device designed to frustrate the domineering tendencies of the politically ambitious, and the right to keep and bear arms is a vital element of the liberal order that our Founders handed down to us. The Second Amendment also plays an important role in fostering the kind of civic virtue that resists the cowardly urge to trade liberty for an illusion of safety. Armed citizens take responsibility for their own security, thereby exhibiting and cultivating the self-reliance and vigorous spirit that are ultimately indispensable for genuine self-government.RTWT

A vote for Donald Trump is a vote to resist the massive corruption of government, a vote against globalism, against "global warming" or "climate change" theology; it is a vote against media collusion and interference in politics. A vote for Donald Trump is not a vote for the person at all, that is why despite the media onslaught of negative stories about him as a person carries no weight with those who support him, because they don't support him at all, they support what he represents, which is a chance to hold Hillary Clinton responsible for her crimes and therefore all of the crooked politicians of 2012 who coerced votes out of their Republican base only to turn on them the next day.
Likewise, a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for a transformed America, a quasi-police state where the government intervenes in business and forces some out of business while subsidizing other businesses that could not possibly sustain themselves without massive graft and media brainwashing. All of those businesses would be held hostage to a criminal organization originating from the White House. It would be a vote to end forever the concept of individual rights. Hillary Clinton would do no less than continue the work of the Obama Administration to destroy individual rights and nearly half of the nation is in favor of just that. It would be a continued replacement of the voters who value the principles of the founding of this nation with those who have no like expectation. It is a vote for the sudden disappearance of websites like this one.
Read it all. Something to think about.

TL Davis: A Suddenly Prudish Press
RTWT
Perhaps one needed to be alive and cognizant of the political world in the 1990's in order to understand the absolute ridiculousness of the media's proclaimed prudishness when it comes to Trump's off-color remarks. They had no such blushing revulsion when they discussed presidential semen on a blue dress. Back then, it was "just sex" as if it was common for men in power to entice, seduce and engage in extra-marital sex with 20-year-old interns.
Another good read about the hypocracy of the media.

From the YHGTBFSM files and update on the new Grand Daughter
I'm behind because my boss* at the pizza store is trying to work me to death. That and a gun show last week has kept me busy.
Last week, the Des Moines Register ran a editorial about the State of Missouri going to Constitutional Carry. Typical for the liberal rag that it is, it was full of crying and panty wetting. You can read it all here.
Missouri is a great place to visit, offering professional sports, stunning lakes, cultural attractions and historical sites that Iowa can’t match. But we wouldn’t want to work for the state’s tourism division. We can imagine the calls staffers must be answering from potential visitors:
“Yes, ma’am, Missourians will be able to carry concealed weapons without a permit. And without completing safety training. And without a background check. And yes, they’ll have more freedom to shoot if threatened.”
“I can’t say whether more criminals, mentally ill people or Chiefs tailgaters will be carrying guns, sir.”
That's nothing but fear mongering at it's finest. They also passed Stand your Ground. To which the paper had more panty wetting to add.
Among other things, lawmakers passed a “stand your ground” law that says people no longer have a duty to try to retreat before using lethal force if they think their life is in danger. They expanded the right of not only homeowners to defend their property with guns, but also their guests such as babysitters.
Oh, so now you can get a babysitter that can actually defend your children. That's bad how? As always, be sure to read the comments. Some of them are absolute gun hater gold.
*My boss at the pizza store is a Bosnian that came here in the 90's. He and his wife took jobs as delivery drivers for a pizza store and about 10 years ago, the bought a franchise. He's actually one of the better bosses I've ever had.
Several years ago, a Pizza Hut driver walked into a trap and a punk tried to rob him. The driver managed to get the punks gun away from him and drew his own gun and shot the asshole 3 times in the guts. Pizza hut fired him. While all of this was going on, I asked the boss if he would fire me if I shot a bad guy. His answer was that as long as I was legally carrying, he was good with the fact that I carried.
Lat year, in the first part of December, he sent Naomi and I to Las Vegas for 4 days all expenses paid. A reward for the two of us being loyal employees.

The poor lady was not very proficient

To communicate with her husband.
The real problem arose
Whenever she had to shop for groceries.
One day, she went to the butcher counter and wanted to buy
Chicken legs. She didn't know how to put forward her request,
So, in desperation, clucked like a chicken and lifted up her skirt
To show her thighs. Her butcher got the message and gave
Her the chicken legs.
Next day she needed to get chicken breasts, again she didn't
Know how to say it, so she clucked like a chicken and unbuttoned
Her blouse to show the butcher her breasts.
The butcher understood again and gave her some chicken breasts.
On the 3rd day, the poor lady needed to buy sausages.
Unable to find a way to communicate this, she brought her
Husband to the store...

The War on Guns: This Did Not Go Down as Planned
Miracle said she was leaving the Circle K near 59th Avenue and Camelback Road with her family early Monday morning when the suspect, Frank Taylor , tried to bum a cigarette. She told him that she didn’t have one, and then seconds later, Miracle said, she could feel the barrel of the gun against her skin.
“He put the gun up to my neck and said, ‘It’s loaded, don’t move,’” Miracle said. ”I think he thought, ‘She’s a little girl. Maybe she doesn’t know how to use her weapon.’”
Miracle said, “I dropped my soda, released my gun from my holster and cocked it. I shot him and ran in the opposite direction."
She was carrying in condition 3, loaded magazine and empty chamber. With a small child, this is a pretty good idea. She was well trained to be able to go from victim to winner. Dropping her drink distracted the bad guy just long enough for her to take action.
According to Bloomberg's mommy minion, Shannon, this never happens. I guess miss Miricle didn't get the memo.
I prefer to carry in condition 1. My current carry gun is a double/single action Ruger P95. Loaded chamber, 15 rounds in the box and hammer down. When I carry a 1911, loaded chamber, hammer back and safety on. Col. Cooper would be proud.

US flags called 'liability,' ordered removed from New York fire trucks
An upstate New York fire department was ordered to stop flying the American flag from trucks in the latest case pitting patriotism against protocol.
Really? Terrorists? WTF has happened to this country that we can't even fly the American flag?
The flag flap followed a recent Rhode Island controversy, in which local firefighters were called "terrorists" for deciding to fly Old Glory on the back of their trucks.
RTWT
I think if people hate the flag so much, they need to catch the next flight out of the country. There are flights leaving every day going to some of the finest shit holes in the world.

Edit to add:
I was out earlier when Des Moines fire truck pulled up along side me. There was a American flag flying from the read. I wasn't distracted by it in the least.

Why we need voter ID.
And we think there won’t be voter fraud this time?!?
I thought you might find this interesting. I sure did!
Next time you hear Hillary, or any other Democrat, ranting about Republicans wanting to disenfranchise minorities by requiring voter ID, keep the following in mind:
* In 59 voting districts in the Philadelphia region, Obama received 100% of the votes with not even a single vote recorded for Romney. (A mathematical and statistical impossibility).
* In 21 districts in Wood County Ohio, Obama received 100% of the votes where GOP inspectors were illegally removed from their polling locations - and not one single vote was recorded for Romney. (Another statistical impossibility).
* In Wood County Ohio, 106,258 voted in a county with only 98,213 eligible voters .

It seems hard to believe that it's been 40 years since the accident that ended my tour in the Marines. Just standing by my truck when a idiot playing around ran into me. Playing with a vehicle that not only was he not licensed for, but had been dead lined for brake issues. 8 months later, March 11, 1977, I was medically discharged from the Marines. I managed to work another 30 years before a slip on a small patch of ice ended my working life.
Sometimes it just amazes what one small incident in your past will lead to.

Busy, busy
It's been a busy summer. Between yard and garden and my delivery job, I really need a couple days off. So for now, enjoy Bill Whittle explaining what laws Hitlery broke and who is ultimately responsible
More later.

Wear orange to support gun control
Today is the day that all of the demanding mommies are wearing orange to show their support for "common sense" gun control laws. They will be known by the company they keep.
